TOP TEN: Feb 2019 New Puzzles

Hello to my fellow Jigsaw Junkies out there. There are lots of new puzzles in stock this time of year from a wide variety of manufacturers. I thought in this post I’d try to limit my “show and tell” to my very top favorites. My “ten” is actually “fourteen”, but what can you do. A few notes:

14. “Dogtown” and “Catsville”, Cobble Hill (1000 pieces each)

If you like busy collage puzzles, these two brand new ones will make you wag your tail. I especially love the cat one with all the black cats in the image. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

13. “Alaska: The Final Frontier” by Kate Ward Thacker, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

This new Kate Ward Thacker puzzle has loads of woodsy, campy flare. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

12. “Bowls” by Cobble Hill (1000 pieces)

Cobble Hill had got some wonderful new puzzles for 2019. This is another brilliant one. The bowl patterns are perfect for puzzling. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

11. “Buttons” by Cobble Hill (1000 pieces)

And yet another super fun new collage from Cobble Hill. Working with lettering is always fun in puzzles. This would be a fun and easy one-day project. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

10. “Enchanted Fairytale Library” by Alixandra Mullins, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

This is a lovely new fantasy puzzle from Sunsout. The image reminds me of Aimee Stewart, but the credited artist is Alixandra Mullins. Either way, this looks like a load of fun to do. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

9. “Amsterdam Canal” by Cobble Hill (1000 pieces)

This landscape features buildings in bright colors and lots of flowers and trees. Nice. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

8. “Rainbow Seashells” by Chronicle Books (2000 pieces)

This is one of the few new puzzles that comes in 2000 pieces. Looks like a terrific challenge! I have never done a Chronicle Books puzzle, but the boxes are nice and sturdy. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

7. “Butterflies and Moths” by eeBoo (1000 pieces)

I recently reviewed eeBoo puzzles and I loved them. This new image from them is lovely. The large butterfly patterns would be fun to assemble. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

6. “Easter Bunnies”, Cobble Hill (1000 pieces)

There aren’t many Easter-themed puzzles available, and this new one looks fun to assemble with all the colored flowers and eggs. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

If you prefer 500 piece puzzles, this “Butterfly Magic” puzzle from Cobble Hill will do as a spring-themed substitute!

5. “Blossom” by Jenny Newland, Masterpieces (1000 pieces)

I love the Geoff Tristram cat images (called Cat-ology). This Jenny Newland is very similar and filled with many bright colors and flower textures. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

For those who like smaller piece sizes, the gorgeous puzzle below is available in 500 pieces from Sunsout.

4. “Jeweled Cat” by Lewis T. Johnson, White Mountain (1000 pieces)

Speaking of cats, “Tapestry Cat” and its cousin images have been huge bestsellers for White Mountain and some (like “Tropical Cat”) go for beaucoup bucks. This is a brand new one! Whoot. You can see my review of Tapestry Cat here. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

3. “Classic Tales: Alice in Wonderland” by Mark Brill and Pinkerton Road, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

I love the storybook effect of this puzzle, like a collage of illustrations from a nice children’s book. And the checkerboard pattern looks fun to assemble. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)

2. “Onde” and “Rapture” by Melanie Delon, Cobble Hill (1000 pieces each)

1. “A Crazy Zoo” by Gale Pitt, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

And coming in at #3 is another Gale Pitt classic reissued by Sunsout. There’s so much fun detail in this one and I love all the animals. It’s a long out-of-print goodie that I’m thrilled to see remade. (Click on the images below to see the puzzle on Puzzle Warehouse.)
