New Puzzles: June 2019

The new puzzles start to come in fast and furious starting late June/July timeframe. Some manufacturers release twice annually, including June. Christmas puzzles begin to be announced. And there’s a rush of new summer-themed puzzles.

First, let’s take a look at what’s new at Puzzle Warehouse, shall we?  Here are my favorites from the new selection.

14. “The Gossip Party” by Les Ray, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

This reminds me of a Susan Brabeau image but it’s not. I like all the different fabric textures in this and the old-fashioned vibe.

13. “The Ruins” by Nene Thomas, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

I’m always up for Nene Thomas, but I particularly like the blurred blue background in this one.

12. “Lighthouse By the Sea” by Adam Meiklejohn, Sunsout (550 pieces)

This 500-piecer is lovely. The colors are vibrant and I like the art style.

11. “The Puzzle Store” by Adam Meiklejohn, White Mountain Puzzles (1000 pieces)

Love this new image from White Mountain with all the mini White Mountain puzzles included in the puzzle. Cool.

If you prefer the Sunsout brand, this image below was just released. Or maybe get them both! They’re both cute.

10. “Gardens in Art”, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

This interesting image contains a number of smaller images as well, but this time they’re art masterpieces.

9. “The Old Garage” by Kevin Walsh, Sunsout (1000 pieces)

A lovely British nostalgia scene from Sunsout.

8. “Village Grocer” by Steve Crisp, Vermont Puzzle Company (1000 pieces)

This wonderful Steve Crisp image was originally released by Gibsons in the UK a few years ago, but now Vermont Puzzle Company has released it in the US. Definitely recommended.

scene in a greengrocer’s shop in 1950’s.

7. “Arctic Harmony”, Tomax Puzzles (4000 pieces)

I do love a good extra large puzzle. This 4000 piecer from Tomax will be super challenging with all that blue. But, wow, what a masterpiece when done!

6. “Vigil” by Lisa Freeman, Very Good Puzzle (1000 pieces)

Pomegranate, one of the highest quality brands I’ve ever reviewed, has just released a bunch of new images. A few made the list. The one has some nice large areas of color/pattern like the green wallpaper, the yellow wallpaper, and checkerboard floor, that will make it easy to assemble. It’s also really unusual and certainly edgier than most jigsaw puzzles.

5. “Chrysanthemums” by Lou Kregel, Very Good Puzzle (1000 pieces)

Pomegranate, one of the highest quality brands I’ve ever reviewed, has just released a bunch of new images. A few made the list. I love the collage effect of this one.

4. “The Painted Ladies”, Ravensburger (1500 pieces)

This 1500 piece puzzle is a nice size, and it’s filled with color and humor.

3. “Ice Cream Shop”, Ravensburger (1500 pieces)

Lots of fun colors in this sweet image.

2. “Heartview Cave”, Ravensburger (1000 pieces)

I love this Ravensburger for the colors and unusual design.

1. “Water’s Edge” by David Hale, Very Good Puzzle (1000 pieces)

This is my favorite of the new Very Good Puzzles. It’s so unique and that makes it very refreshing. I love the line drawing style and all the strong patterns, like the back of the turtle’s back. Awesome.

Love this new image from White Mountain with all the mini White Mountain puzzles included in the puzzle. Cool.
