Oh HEYE yes

It’s such a winter treat to get the first batch of new Heye puzzles for the year. If you want them hot off the press, your best bet is to order them from a German distributor such as puzzle-offensive.de.  They show up on US and UK channels after several weeks (or months). Below is my initial order, my uber top picks.  I realized after I got them that only 3 are in the triangular box (Prades “Carnival in Rio”, theRead more

Review: “Who did It?” by Michael Ryba, Heye, 2000 pieces – 10/10

Publisher: Heye (Germany), published 1998 and currently reissued in a rectangular box Title:  “Who Did It?”, Artist: Michael Ryba, 2000 pieces  OUR RATING: 10/10 I worked this puzzle years ago, but it was time, over the lengthy holidays, to get it out again. This has long been one of my favorite Heye puzzles. I love Ryba’s cartoon art, and I love the ‘faux scary’ cartoon themes (others are Loup’s “Castle of Horror” and Prades “Walpurgis Night”). I’m a big murder mystery fan andRead more

I received an email recently from Studio Zoetermeer in the Netherlands. They have a new line of cartoon puzzles they just started last year. They look similar to JVH puzzles, but yet have their own flavor too. I love the look of them and I am looking forward to receiving them and doing a review and brand comparison for this site. Check them out: Above: The Studio Zoetermeer puzzles publish under the brand “Toys From Giraffe”. “Zoetermeer”, 1000 pieces “Hocus Pocus”, 1000 piecesRead more
