The Ravensburger line, which is one of the best quality puzzle brands, has done limited edition Christmas puzzle for quite a few years. The most recent puzzle, 2014, is listed as 17th in the series. Most of their LE Christmas puzzles are done by artist Roy Trower.
It’s a bit difficult to form a precise list of their LE Christmas puzzles because a number of them are, quite obviously, out of print. Ravensburger has also released various boxes and puzzles in different countries, some with a “Christmas Limited Edition” star but a plain back. These ARE NOT part of the “official” numbered limited edition series, which has a back specifically designed for the line and a certificate of authenticity. This is our most up-to-date deciphering. Please feel free to contact me or comment if you have better information. Thanks to Viv for her help!

OTHER Ravensburger Puzzles published with the “Christmas Limited Edition” star
These puzzles are in boxes with the “limited edition” star, but they don’t have the limited edition information on the back or the series certificate. They are not numbered. I’m not sure if they are reissues of the “official” LE numbered line and, if so, where they fall in the above list’s ‘missing’ items. I’m assuming the star, without listing the series order, were done on boxes in other countries and/or were reprints from previous years. The 2 Roy Trower puzzles below are most likely in the official series and the rest probably are not.
“THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS” by Roy Trower, box dated 2008, standard back
“SNOWY DAY” dated 2011, standard back
“SANTA’S ARRIVAL” by George Schriemer, dated 2010

Hi!

I have found another Ravensburger Christmas puzzle, look here:

Hi, Sonya — I haven’t seen that one before. Thanks for the tip!
Hi,
Thanks for this great work.
I found two additional puzzles from the star line:

Thanks for the tip!
I’m looking for a nativity scene jigsaw……..can’t find one!
You can find lots of them here:
https://www.puzzlewarehouse.com/product/filter.cfm?ATTRIBUTE_AGE=0&ATTRIBUTE_PIECES=0&ATTRIBUTE_THEME=360048
The official Christmas edition 1000 piece jigsaw for 2002 was “Winnie the Pooh Christmas Fun”. This was not listed as a limited edition because Disney has the copyright to Pooh.
The above has been confirmed by Ravensburger.
I am working on collecting all of the limited edition Christmas puzzles, and I could not have done it without this guide. Thank you so much for putting this together.
