Waddington’s Limited Edition Christmas Puzzles

Waddington’s, a UK brand, was one of the first to do Limited Edition Christmas Puzzles.  They became collector’s items and proved to be so popular that now many puzzle brands do a limited edition Christmas puzzle of their own.  Waddington’s stopped producing puzzles for a few years, but fortunately their Christmas puzzles were picked up and restarted by another company.  This page lists all the Christmas puzzles that I’m aware of.  The new ones can be purchased from Amazon.co.uk and shipped worldwide.  The older ones can be hard to find.  Ebay is your best bet.

  1. I purchased Almost Christmas many years ago from a Bits and Pieces catalog. It was a pleasure to see it come “alive” as the pieces fell into place. I am now 81 and working it for the second time. Strange,, I do not recall it being this difficult….

    Hi Jane,

I wanted to bring something to your attention, in case you aren’t aware of it. Are you familiar with the calendar stores that usually open seasonally around Christmastime and then close after the first of the year? Well, one opened near my home this past November and I love calendars so went to check it out. They also sell puzzles, including their own brand “Go! Games” and under this brand name they’ve reissued four of the older Waddington’s Christmas puzzle images. The boxes say these puzzles are made in Taiwan. They are of excellent quality!! I managed to purchase all four of these former Waddington’s images – they’re the ones from 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. If you go the http://www.calendars.com and click on “puzzles” then “Christmas puzzles” these four can be found on the first two pages.

I hope this company will bring out more of these puzzles in the future. I’ve completed two of them so far and really enjoyed them! 🙂

    Sincerely,
    Bernadette

    Hi all..

Firstly what a great site.. I am not a jigsaw person myself but I have found this site to house a wealth of knowledge and I only came looking due to the passing of my nan a few weeks back.

I knew she was a jigsaw person but did not fully understand to what level until looking in her spare room.. there where hundreds of puzzles in her collection. Most have now been donated to the local charity shops.

However some seamed a little to good just to dispose of.

Now I have done loads of research and I understand what I am looking at while typing this….
It seams my nan enjoyed collecting the Waddingtons limited edition Xmas puzzles. 15 in total.

The very first one “The twelve days of Xmas” No 1. 1994 is still sealed and never been opened. !!!

No 2 to No 13 (1995 – 2006) the full set. have been done once and are complete with decorations and certificates.

No 16 “Xmas morning” 2011 is brand new and still sealed in its packaging.

No 19 “Santa’s workshop” 2014 is complete with decoration and certificate.

I really don’t want to eBay this collection and I am sure my nan would rather it went to people who would value it and get the same pleasure out of doing the jigsaws as she did.

If anyone would like to make a offer for the collection please get in touch. All proceeds will be donated to the British heart foundation in her name.

    Regards. Bryan

    • That’s a lovely offer, Bryan. I have the collection so I’d like to not be selfish and hope that one of my deserving readers answers you. Do you have an email or other way people can get in touch?

      • Bryan says:

        Hi yes.

        My email address is bryan.bush@engineer.com
If anyone wishes to contact me.

I have just added another load of whsmiths Xmas puzzles to the pile and am sure there will be others.

I would be happy to parcel them all up into a box and ship world wide as long as the postage is covered.

        Thanks

        Bryan

I’ve purchased these very Xmas since they started for my mum. Unfortunately she passed away before she managed to start the last one so I’ll complete it in her memory. Now I have the arduous task of selling her puzzle collection on 😦
